Description

eBooks are a way of sharing traditional text found in books along with enhanced information through the use of multi media.  As they are digital in format they allow for the addition of  video, audio, drawing, photography, text and links to web based content.
Using tools such as iBooks Author you can add even more through the use of widgets.  Widgets allow you to create custom content to your eBooks such as quizzes or drawing pads.  iBooks Author is a Mac based programme and a great tool for taking book making further.  This guide however is going to focus on the new tools in Pages that allow for ePub creation.
In March 2018, the iPad and iWork tools received a huge update to allow for even more creativity.  Pages, as one of the tools, gained the ability to create ePubs and also the ability to directly draw onto documents and add audio.   This made it a great app for students in the classroom to evidence learning but also a tool for staff to create books for instructional and support purposes.
This guide will look at the basic tools to get you started, highlight a couple of tips to help you in the design process and direct you to some great, Educator made eBooks to further inspire you.
