This is a little book about Christian theologian Charles Hodge’s views on Darwin and slavery. Hodge is important because he was one of Darwin’s first Christian critics — and Christian apologetics hasn’t changed much since. Hodge’s views on slavery are not fully abolitionist, so his readers have used his views to support and to challenge the institution.
