Description

Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (February 26, 1852 – December 14, 1943) was an American medical doctor in Battle Creek, Michigan, who ran a sanitarium for many years. He was an advocate of vegetarianism, with a particular focus on nutrition, exercise and enemas, and against smoking.
Apart from that, he was also an advocate of sexual abstinence, devoting much of his medical and educational work to discourage sexual activity, basing on the danger of sexually transmissible diseases and the danger taught by the Seventh-day Adventists Church, in that time.
He placed his views on these themes in one of his larger books, published in several editions, under the title Plain Facts about Sexual Life, later known as Plain Facts for Old and Young.
According to Dr. Kellogg, among the things that could reduce the sexual feelings is also dieting, which would include two meals a day.
In this book you will read about sex, sexuality, virginity and other aspects that support the sexual abstinence. Also, at the end of the book are included two chapters, one for boys and one or girls, which contains information about growing up and developing.
