Description

9 AM EST: A senator shoots himself on national television.

10:32 AM EST: An entire floor of government agents leap to their death from their office building.

12:57 PM EST: All the police officers inside a station murder each other.

And the day has just begun. Lieutenant Asher Benson left Iraq with a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and a Purple Heart. His doctors warned that the symptoms would be life altering. They had no idea. As his body healed, the thoughts of those around him began to echo through Ash’s mind, stretching the boundaries of his sanity.

Five years later, Ash is drowning the voices with copious amounts of booze and self-loathing.

When unidentified intelligence agents abduct him in broad daylight, Ash is thrust into a world of espionage and assassinations. A unique terrorist is operating on U.S. soil, and the government needs Ash, and the malady that has plagued him for half a decade, to find the killer.

*Ash is the first book in the Asher Benson thriller series, which is full of snarky humor and nonstop action.

A silly, hyper violent, orgy of machismo absolutely riddled with trite expressions and heavy-handed humor. I wanna like the main character but that’s the best I can say about this badly written mess that reads like really offensive, cheesy, TV script from the 1960s.

I liked how the story got more and more interesting. As I kept getting further into the book.
  • Ton of violence

If I had known there was going to be this much violence I would not have bought the book. I bought it for the humor that they said it had and for the paranormal aspects. I did not realize the graphic violence that would be taking place throughout a great much of the book. Yes it had some humor and definitely had paranormal aspects. But the violence was overwhelming

I don’t generally like thrillers about telepathy etc but once I started reading I was hooked on this one. The dialogue of the characters was what made this read so very, very enjoyable. There were times when I was asking myself: “ Is this for real ?” I would actually read this again.

I stopped scrolling because I saw my nickname, Ash. I was delighted to see the villain had my last name as a code name! I am so glad I stumbled across this book because it was fantastic even if my whole name wasn’t all over it! I could not put it down and after finishing immediately purchased book 1.5 and book 2. Finished 1.5 immediately and am now hooked into the next one! I’m going to browse his other series as well!

It’s extremely rare for me to rate a book a 5, but this was a truly excellent read. I also enjoyed the author bio. Hilarious.
