Description

To a large extent, the mechanical image reproduction has made the History of Art books possible and has been modeled as an iconic/literary discipline, whose discourse is presented to reader through the illustrations.

This work highlights the potential for teaching offered by new technologies for adapting visual narration procedures to an interactive discourse, with unpublished three-dimensional reconstructions, unique combinations of planimetry and elevations, and an extensive range of activities for immersion in reading the architectural language as formal vocabulary and for designing meaningful spaces.

Greek architecture has provided the vocabulary of the orders, syntactic and semantic criteria about nature and the value of architecture, and the idea of an ordered space as the setting for social functions, which the reader will discover in a surprising way in this new generation of History of Art books for the new media in the digital culture.
