Description

Art, Islam and Wisdom presents Islamic art alongside some of islam's most famous poems and traditions composed by key figures throughout history.

The work initially displays art created by my self inspired by various influences on society, followed by Islamic Art seen in Armour and Weapons from the Islamic World including the weapons of the Prophet (saws). Then art relating to the Hilya (description) of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and his relics, and finally calligraphic art displayed in Quranic and Hadith Manuscripts.

The works that where created by myself are derivative of forms and styles that have defined perception in the modern world. Islam's wisdom and heart is employed to show the old coming through the new, what the eye can reach 1400 years after Islam's first revelation.

In 1940 Pablo Picasso commented after visiting the Hall of Bulls in Lascaux France, famous for its 17000 year old Palaeolithic paintings "We have done nothing New".

The Modern age has disconnected us from perceiving the natural elements of life. Considering what this world has offered us in terms of inspiration to fuel our perception, it has not reached what previous masters have understood about design, form, beauty and balance which they left for us in their works. These works are a result of this understanding.
