The Nightingale should be on everyone’s (young and old) required reading list. A detailed story of two sisters surviving WWII in occupied France. Their heroic story left me speechless.

This book was amazing! I absolutely loved the first page and the last few chapters. They were tear-jerking. It honestly puts it into perspective what women may have experienced during that time. It let me become more open-minded about it! Although, many may find some chapters hard and emotional please do not stop reading! It’s amazing!

This is my favorite KH book. Hands down. Whereas The Women was set during the Vietnam war, this book happened during the Germany invasion of France during WWII. KH writes as well as any author I’ve ever read.

Kristin Hannah is one of my recent favorite authors. The way she words memories and scenes is captivating and immersive. This book would give you heartbreak, joy, faith, and hope. Life is such a journey and there is a lot of resistance against wars and human tragedy, and it’s up to us to stand our ground to what we believe is right to our core.
