An intimate account of Napoleon and his private life. The historical events are verifiable and therefore factual. The rest is entirely up to the memory and integrity of Constant and must be viewed accordingly. It is unfortunate that Constant's relationship with Napoleon ended badly. He was suspected of theft and abandoned his job at Fontainebleau shortly before the abdication of the Emperor. Regardless, there is consistency in the character of Napoleon as related and I found the book very entertaining and interesting.
