Description

The second in the captivating Hades and Persephone series from fan-favorite bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair.

"Are you saying you wouldn't fight for me?"

Hades sighed and brushed his finger along her cheek. "Darling, I would burn this world for you."

Persephone's relationship with Hades has gone public and the resulting media storm disrupts her normal life and threatens to expose her as the Goddess of Spring. To add to her troubles, everyone seems eager to warn Persephone away from the God of the Dead by exposing his hellish past.

Things only get worse when a horrible tragedy leaves Persephone's heart in ruin and Hades refusing to help. Desperate, she takes matters into her own hands, striking bargains that lead to severe consequences. Faced with a side of Hades she never knew, and crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades's queen.

The lessons and growth she experiences in this book is breathtaking. Hades too. It had me laughing out loud and crying in parts. There are no words to describe a book that can render every emotion as I read it. Thank you for these. I’m absolutely in love with this series. Incredible writing. I can’t say enough good things about this series

This series is very good. My only gripe, which maybe petty is how immature Persephone is. She is so irrational, but that might just be a quality of a goddess.
  • Not going to finish the series

The first book was okay. I found Persephone to be immature but still bearable. But with a Touch of Ruin, her immaturity and doubts about her relationships were so repetitive and annoying. I ended up skimming through the whole book (not even bother reading) just to “finish” and know the plot. Won’t be buying the last book.. Sad cuz I think Hades is a great character but Sephy is a no for me.

YES YES YES YES YESSSS!!!!! Loved this book so much!!! Onto the third one!!! Also… I have seen a lot of bad reviews about “a touch of ruin.” People saying that Persephone was a fool and that she was treating Hades bad… stating, “what did Hades do to deserve this…” but I think people fail to realize that Persephone’s life changed drastically. She went from living a normal life to being stuck between two worlds at the same time. She was confused and lost. I thought the way she acted in this second book was portrayed perfectly considering what she was going through.

Hard core rooting for Hades & Persephone but I just felt a slight disconnect in how much I wanted to like Persephone but felt her actions in the book were very immature. As the main character and her voice throughout, it just kept me from loving this book 100%. BUT you saw her grow by the end so I’m hoping the next book will turn a new page…. Literally. 😉 Also the plot felt very disconnected. Like where was Hates the whole time? And what was he going through? I would rather it switch narratives then have a separate book where I read the same story again from his view. LOVE Hades. Wish we would’ve gotten more of him in this book!

I finished this book in one day. It got you on every page. My only complaint is that is was A LOT. Problem after problem after problem. It gave me a headache with all that was happening. I would recommend it but it won’t be a book a read again. I prefer the first book.
