A thrilling gothic romance spiced with danger and forbidden love from a New York Times bestselling author:
"Sensual and witty... A delicious treat!" - Eloisa James

HIS TOUCH HOLDS HER CAPTIVE
From the ravens circling its spires to the gargoyles adorning its roof, Blackberry Manor looms ominously over its rambling grounds. And behind its doors, amid the flickering shadows and secret passageways, danger lies in wait…

TO HIS EVERY DARK DESIRE
Evangeline Pemberton has been invited to a party at the sprawling estate of reclusive Gavin Lioncroft, who is rumored to have killed in cold blood. Initially, his towering presence and brusque manner instill fear… until his seductive attentions and unexpected vulnerability conquer her resistance. But when a guest is murdered, Evangeline is torn. Could the man to whom she is so powerfully drawn, also be a ruthless killer?

This would be my first read of such a particular niche, but the story was very compelling. The characters were well developed and consistent, and the very different perspectives of the protagonists and lovers was entertaining.

Some of the scenarios were a little annoying but it was an ok read.

I enjoyed the book and characters, but I also didn’t understand what time period it was. The front cover looks like new times, but the wording and family rules suggested another era. I am not sure.
  • Hardly wicked

This book was a convoluted mess. Multiple story lines, so much back and forth and way too many who dunnit, you dunnit, we dunnit, etc etc. The main characters hardly knew each other before falling all over reach other and were written more like adolescence than adults. Everyone in this book was dramatically over emotional. A headache at best, a waste of time at worse.

The characters were distinctive, and interesting. Author managed to give depth to even several supporting characters. Gothic touches were just the right amount of campy to be fun. Absolutely loved the descriptions of the house where most of story was set!

More of a mystery type romance. Has a lot going on. I felt like I’m almost playing a game of clue. It was a decent book just a little boring in couple spots but not bad.

Evangeline, Gavin, Mrs Stanton, Susan and diabolical Pemberton. Great characters and another unusual story line! So why three stars, when Erica is an automatic five??? I don’t know! For some reason, this is my least favorite off the many books that I have read by one of my favorite authors?? Disturbing!! Cathie

As always, Erica’s storytelling is charming & delightful! Her characters are original, naturally flawed and thought provoking. This is a bit of a mysterious tale with a subtle hint of Beauty and the Beast.... you may question if there is in fact a little of both inside us all.
