Description

Can a hockey hunk teach a yoga instructor to be more flexible? “Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips

Harrison Wynn
Even though I’m the oldest player on the farm team, I’m playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to compete in the NHL.
Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances are receding every season.
What I need is to focus, but the team’s new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I’ve had my eye on her from the first time we met.
Except she’s not interested—okay, maybe actively disinterested—since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class.
How can I prove to her—and to the NHL—that I’m worth taking a chance on?

Arya Ross
Men are the last thing I need in my life.
Yoga is my priority; it helps me center myself and heal my soul.
But I can’t turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer to be the personal yoga instructor for the local hockey team.
Sure, there are some cute players—including Harrison Wynn, who seemingly won’t take no for an answer, and whose boyish smile and sexy charm are hard to resist.
He seems genuine, and I wonder . . .
Can I put my past behind me to start a future with him?

  • Good next book in the series

The 4th book in the series, this is a standalone romance, although people from prior books make appearances (this is following the Wynn family after all!) This book follows Harrison, a hockey player (although he's only temporarily in the NHL, covering for injured players. This plays into his slightly low self esteem and his need to prove himself) and Arya, a yoga instructor (who teaches yoga to the hockey team). Harrison is a goof (as he's described multiple times in the book.) I compare him to a golden retriever- sweet, soft and can maybe be tough if the situation warrants it, but rarely does. Definitely not an "alpha" character. Arya has a past that Harrison needs to overcome in order to achieve their HEA. One thing about this book is the author spent a lot of time on details. The songs being played in the yoga class, the yoga poses, the ice cream flavors, the description of the flowers, the hockey plays and it goes on. I don't remember her doing this for the other books in the series. As a result, the book was a little slow. However, I did like the characters, both this couple as well as past couples. It was a good book but ambles a bit. Thanks to NetGalley for the fun read!
  • For the Win was definitely a winning read.

I love Kelly Jamieson's writing, and I've come to expect a lot from her books—I expect them to make me feel good, to make me smile and laugh, to tug at the heart a little, to show interesting family and friend dynamics, and, of course, to make my temperature rise. This book does all of that, and it does it so, so well. Harrison and Arya are an absolute delight. They just seem to work together, and I love how everything feels easy and lighthearted while still have a vein of depth that adds to the overall tension of the book. Between Harrison's family woes and Arya's troubling past, they have their own hurdles to overcome, and yet they do it in a way that means it's impossible not to root for them. For the Win is another exceptional(ly swoony) installment in the Wynn Hockey series, and I'm excited for Jackson's book next!

The legacy of the Wynn family is in hockey. Starting with the patriarch, all of his children and grandchildren, either play hockey, manage a team, or write about it. Harrison is no exception. He has been farmed out from the minors to play in the NHL again. This time, he wants to shine for the coach, so he’s not traded back. Lately his father has been forgetting people’s names, making strange decisions. Unfortunately, after going to the doctor, he was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s. This makes Harrison more determined to prove to his father that he has it in him to succeed in the NHL. When the team hires a sexy yoga instructor to help the team to heal quicker with injuries and to also prevent them, Harrison is onboard. He’s had his eye out for Arya Ross since he dunked her in the ocean by mistake. Arya’s past has been helped by yoga. Now she owns her own studio and recently got an offer to do a once a week class for the local NHL team. She’s not ready for dating yet, but a sexy hockey player keeps asking her out, and maybe, just maybe, she’ll agree to go on a date with him. Is it possible that Arya can move forth and let Harrison into her life? Like anything that Kelly Jamieson writes, this book is no different. Another hit! I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review.
  • Love for another Wynn Novel

Kelly Jamieson has a way of telling a story that makes you fall in love with the unlikely character. She takes what could be a very one-dimensional character and makes them so much more. The Wynn family is full of strong and diverse characters. I was so in love with Theo’s story I wasn’t sure that I would fall in love with Harrison. Harrison seems just to be skating by on his name and his talent. The oldest player on the farm team for the Condors, the NHL team his dad owns, he told by his coached he isn’t giving a 100% to hockey. Harrison has been called up to play for the Condors for the rest of the season and playoffs he has a chance to show he belongs on the team. When Harrison meets Ayra he just knows she is his everything. Harrison has a heart like non other. He loves big. He himself suffers from self-doubt and trusting in his own abilities on and off the ice. Using the same intensity, he is going after his dream of a place on the Condors he peruses Ayra. Ayra a victim of trauma has spent years relearning to trust herself and her heart after a relationship goes very bad. So, when Ayra is pursued by this big hockey player she isn’t sure what to do. She is attracted to him, but self-doubt makes it hard for her to allow Harrison a chance. Ayra’s self-doubt can be paralyzing and seem impossible to know who you can trust. From Yoga farts to bowling there isn’t a moment in this story that you are not rooting for Harrison and Ayra. Every interaction in this books has you rooting for Ayra and Harrison. Harrison’s layers of passion, self-doubt, his love and kindness you fall in love with him and join team Harrison. Ayra’s past hurt makes you wish for her to trust her heart and let Harrison’s love find a way in. Another amazing story by Kelly Jamieson. Kelly gives you the man you need in that moment. The reminder that love isn’t always easy. That even if you feel it from the first moment it may take your partner a moment to trust themselves and feel it too
  • Meant to be!

Another enjoyable read by Kelly Jamieson. The dynamics in the Wynn family make for interesting reading, that’s for sure. Harrison’s issues are a little more complex that it seems. With all of the things going on in the family and professionally, it was the wrong time to start a relationship (especially with someone who is reluctant). But, sometimes, things are meant to be. Arya had good reason to to be leery of someone coming on a little too strong. In the end, they were perfect for each other, a balancing the others strengths and weaknesses.
  • Insta-must Read!

Great love stories have one thing in common: the author’s exquisite ability at storytelling. “FOR THE WIN” transforms from a simple love story to one that enraptures readers with it’s emotion, conviction, and vitality. Beautifully written this book is a insta-must read, and one you won’t be able to put down. This is Harrison Wynn “Harry” and Arya Ross’s story. And what a story it is. Harry falls in love at first sight with the beautiful yoga instructor, and Arya falls for him too, when the handsome hockey player/yoga student accidentally dumps her into the ocean during her paddle board yoga class. Harry is struggling, trying to prove he has what it takes to be in the NHL. Trying to live up to his hockey hero father. He wants to make his father proud. He wants to have it all. And he wants it all with Arya. These two sizzle with their scorching-hot, mind scrambling kisses and sizzling chemistry. Arya, is charmed by the sexy, irresistible Harry but she keeps pulling back, reluctant and secretly worried about all of his attention due to something in her past. But with Harry’s love and his intensity to win her over. Will she give in and trust Harry with her secret and her self doubt? Will she be able to put her past behind her, for a future with Harry? But this story is so much more than a love story. It is the continued story about the Wynn Family, and their struggle as a large dysfunctional, but caring family, as they deal with the recent devastating diagnosis of patriarch Bob Wynn. Heartwarming and touching as progress is made towards family reconciliation, as understanding, love and compassion unite them. So anxious to see what the next book in this series holds.
