Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-twentieth century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is mistakenly sent to two middle-aged siblings; Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, originally intending to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, in school, and within the town.

This is such a feel good story about the growing of a young orphan girl, which teaches the power of kindness and just a little imagination. Anne’s experiences are so fun to read about, I feel like I laugh and cry in the right places, and there is never a dull moment! I especially love the setting of Green Gables and sometimes wish I could stay there myself! 🌿 I’m also so happy that this book is meant for young teens. I feel like we need more books like this to read in this time and generation. 🤔 But really, the beauty of this story leaves me in awe, and though the other books are just as good, this one will always hold a special place in my heart. 💕
