This course doesn't just explain theory it gives examples and useful rules for creating melodies that will have you writing more memorable melodies quickly!
It starts with the building blocks of melody; scales and intervals -one of the most misunderstood parts of music theory. This is broken down into scale degrees, generic and specific intervals and importantly the musical effect that these scales and intervals have - ie how you can use the natural tension and release in scales to form melodies.
Finally we introduce compositional techniques to extend and assist in melody writing.
