Description

The instant New York Times-bestselling memoir from the outspoken current Republican presidential candidate and former New Jersey governor--an "explosive" (Guardian) "must read" (Hugh Hewitt) account of Chris Christie's life in politics including his "not to miss" (Entertainment Weekly) insights into Donald Trump.
After dropping out of the 2016 presidential race, Chris Christie stunned the political world by becoming the first major official to endorse Donald Trump. A friend of Trump's for fifteen years, the two-term New Jersey governor understood the future president as well as anyone in the political arena--and Christie quickly became one of Trump's most trusted advisers. Tapped with running Trump's transition team, Christie was nearly named his running mate. But within days of Trump's surprise victory over Hillary Clinton, Christie was in for his own surprise: he was being booted out.

In Let Me Finish, Christie sets the record straight about his tenure as a corruption-fighting prosecutor and a Republican running a Democratic state, as well as what really happened on the 2016 campaign trail and inside Trump Tower. Christie takes readers inside the ego-driven battles for Trump's attention among figures like Steve Bannon, Corey Lewandowksi, Reince Priebus, Kellyanne Conway, Jeff Sessions, and Paul Manafort. He shows how the literal trashing of Christie's transition plan put the new administration in the hands of self-serving amateurs, all but guaranteeing the Trump presidency's shaky start. Christie also addresses hot-button issues from his own years in power, including what really went down during Bridgegate. And, for the first time, Christie tells the full story of the Kushner saga: how, as a federal prosecutor, Christie put Jared Kushner's powerful father behind bars--a fact Trump's son-in-law makes Christie pay for later.
Packed with news-making revelations and told with the kind of bluntness few politicians can match, Christie's memoir is an essential guide to understanding the Trump presidency.

Very informative tome from a career politician. What's the tone of this tome, you ask? In a word, bitter. He really shouldn't be, in my opinion. As he explicates throughout this extended piece of dross, he's got a lot of people to thank and that have his back. Basically, the book serves as a barometer of truth. It's like when we used to play "Opposite Day" back in school. Everything he says, you should believe the oppositeu. But I paid the $13 whatever for the digital edition. If there's an audiobook version that he reads, I'll skip that. I almost fell asleep during the early book. He's a legend in his own mind - but aren't we all? Anyway Mr. Christie, keep enjoying your crush on Bruce Springsteen. (Hey, we understand! My mother had one too).

What a great book! I’ve always liked Christie’s “tell it like it is” style and this book is straight up “tell it like it is”. Governor Christie takes you all though his youth, his NJ political life and finally on a wild ride on the Trump Presidential Train. The long term relationship between Governor Christie and President Trump could be a movie with a lot of very funny moments, cringe worthy moments and some sad moments when the victory elation of President Trumps monumental win turns sour very fast. Governor Christie takes you through it all and it’s an amazing experience. I found it very hard to put this book down John N Patchogue, NY

Governor - I read your book straight thru in 2 sittings. Whew. I’ve just finished your Epilogue. I’m so glad to know you better and wondered why you were out of sight in the Administration. I’ve missed you. You fill in the blanks I’ve wanted to know. And those blanks were about what I expected except for Flynn. You have bolstered by faith and trust in Trump ... he recovers after stumbles from within the walls. His instincts serve him well and he rights the leaky boat, or enough so to keep afloat. You didn’t veer off into media’s culpability and its strangle hold on soccer moms in suburbia, and others, and the pervasive sinews of liberalism twisting, or rather commandeering, education and warping the Founders’ vision. You can gather your thoughts and do so. Follow Trump into the White House to maintain, and expand, his swath of reform. And rehabilitation of America. Give out your instructions to America with your loud voice. Make us listen. And learn. Teach us more. Take care of yourself. Robin in Memphis

I loathe trump and everyone connected to him. I’ve purchased James Comey’s book, Michelle Obama’s book, Michael Wolfs, and even Omarosa’s. I’m pretty sure I’ll purchase this one as well.
