  • Embarrassing

This book made me cringe. The entire book is her basically playing “poor me” and then going on complimenting herself on how pretty she is every 5 seconds and talking about how perfect her life seems to be now. She comes across extremely self centered and narcissistic. I wouldn’t doubt she treats people now how they supposedly treated her when she was younger. This was super disappointing as I was hoping for something a lot more genuine. When I started following her years ago she portrayed someone totally different than what she is now and that very much shows in this book.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s so well written and I loved the advice she would give at the end of each chapter.
  • The worst book ever!

I honestly could not even get past 200 pages of the book. Poorly written, fake, and childish is what came to mind. I wish I didn’t waste my money :(

This book. Oiy. This book. First she marketed this book as a “cookbook” on her platform. Then you open the actual book and tucked into the back there are a handful of recipes (likely her mothers) and that’s it. Add onto the fact that she continues to reiterate that “girls hate her” because she’s so pretty and cute. Eye roll. No- they probably hate you because you’re full of yourself and have no self awareness. She said she opened for the Jonas Brothers and that she cried behind the scenes before every show. But that she lost the gig because Jonas Bros audience were girls and well- you guessed it- girls hate her. Not the fact that she spent a bunch of time crying instead of being professional. No because girls don’t like her. Mind you her main audience is- you guessed it- girls. And then Eric comes in and completes her after a bad breakup. She says her ex was ugly and that she dated him for his talent (okay.) and that she would literally fish for compliments from the guy like “am I the prettiest girl you ever seen?” And he essentially had the audacity to tell her “no” lol I mean how could this ugly dude tell her that? She said if she asked this question to Eric that he wouldn’t even blink (and the undertone was Eric’s way hotter than that guy so again ugly dude- you have some nerve) but what she doesn’t bring up is when she gained so much weight being pregnant with her first and how unattractive Eric found her then. Yes, the ex is an a-hole but guess what Jess- you’re narcissistic. And Eric thinks your hot now- but not when you’re 50+lbs heavier. So is he really any better? It just seemed like a giant 5 steps back for women. The cattiness. The Eric completes me, etc. it was one dimensional, narcissistic, and I ended up returning the book. 🤷🏼‍♀️😑

I had never heard of her before, but in this book she seems so fake.

One star is generous for this dismal book. You can get the recipes anywhere and her constant trivial banter about how pretty she is is nauseating.
