Description

Shane McCall has dedicated his life to rising above the smear his father put on his last name.  As sheriff of Marietta, Montana, his reputation is finally above reproach and he aims to keep it that way.  A difficult task made impossible since he made the mistake of kissing Silver Adams.  Courting a saloon owner is not Shane's idea of respectability, but when his brother comes to town and turns her head, Shane realizes the only arms Silver belongs in are his.

Silver Adams has stared down many challenges, but when she moves to Montana, she finally has independence and a sense of pride. With her close circle of friends and a successful saloon, the only thing missing from her life is love. When Silver finds everything she has been looking for in the arms of an upstanding lawman, she feels her dreams have come true until her disreputable past threatens all Silver holds dear, and now Silver must make the hardest decision of her life—telling Shane the truth.

Michelle Beattie is a superb western writer. Book 3 in her New series is a delight. She has very well developed characters. There is a riveting plot that keeps on giving. Then there is pioneer Montana, home of my heart. I can vividly picture Paradise Valley, the rapidly growing Marietta, and a rustic Billings. I felt like I was home! A Sheriff’s Passion is worth a one sitting read!

I had been waiting through the first two books for Shane and Silver to finally get their story, and I wasn't disappointed. This story had me in tears and on the edge of my seat at times. There certainly wasn't anything simple about Shane and Silver's relationship, especially when Silver's secret past comes in to play. Their passion certainly had me cheering for a happy ending. I really like how all of the stories have shown the drama, good and bad, that small town Marietta faced, and the friendships and small-town camaraderie that we've come to expect from Marietta. All of the characters were wonderful.
