Description

"A captivating series!" –Jennifer A. Nielsen, New York Times bestselling author

Never bargain with the fae . . .

The fourth, throwaway son of the clanchief, Otec witnesses his faraway mountain village come under attack by raiders while all the other men are off to war. Cut off from his clan, he must trust a foreign woman stalked by a dark, mysterious magic as they race to save his people.

Dodging enemies, Otec soon discovers that what he thought was a mere raid is something far deadlier. The woman helping him—the one he’s developing feelings for—is not only his enemy, she’s also his people's best chance of survival.

In the Fairy Queens Saga, each book features a mortal who makes an ill-fated bargain with the fae to save someone they love. And each time that mortal is drawn a little deeper into an immortal war. By the final books, those mortals find themselves pitted against each other in a race to save a dying world.

A French privateer and a naive kind hearted damsel in distress, what a combination for a romance on the high seas. Interesting characters and a fascinating take on the American Revolution including historical characters, makes for an interesting read that is hard to put down. I received this book as a free arc and am happy I did. It was a very good entertaining read.

I received this Arc as a box set in ebook form from the author in exchange of a honest review. All thoughts and opinions are all my own. This was my first ever Amber Argyle book that I have read but I have other I'm going to be reading as well. I was drawn in by this book first because it's about fairies. I have been wanting to read and get into books about fairies. This book is about how two characters Otec and Matka are drawn in towards each other throughout their own experiences. Otec wasn't supposed to be Clam Chief he had older siblings that would be way before he would have. Things happened where he becomes Chief of the Clans. I liked seeing him grow from the unimportant son to the most important one. Also changing from a unsure leader to a confident chief leader of the clans. I really liked his how Matka comes Otecs light in his dark times and thoughts.
